Message From The OSFNA president, 07/09/2011
The Oromo Sport Federation is preparing better than ever before to present the best sports tournament and cultural awareness week in the twin cities area of Minnesota. In our utter desire to please every soccer player, coach, individual runner, basketball player, and our loyal fans we are preparing a high energy filled sports competitions, involving the best Oromo teams in North America. After the action filled competitions on the soccer fields during the day, the evenings will be filled with fine Oromo food and entertainment to suit everyone. The hallmark of this year's tournament is going to be competitions between youth teams indicating a year of transition. I would like to remind everyone that this year is the 16th anniversary of the Oromo Sports Federation; it is indeed a remarkable milestone for all Oromo's sports lovers in the Diaspora. It signifies one of the greatest achievements of Oromo volunteerism and sustained effort to reach a goal. We will make a special effort during this year's tournament to prepare, for a greater reflection on the federation's history and as a turning point to transition the organization to another generation and another decade. Registration and team formation information will be listed on our web site and distributed to teams representatives. Furthermore, the federation is asking all coaches and team managers to make a special effort to sponsor at least one youth team in their community as a junior team in order to guarantee the existence of our beloved sport for the foreseeable future. Without further due, and also all of our players and coaches have to behave professionally and display honorable sportsmanship in their dealings with each other and with members of other team's coaches. However, if there is an incident happens both on, and off the field OSFNA will not tolerate such behavior and is inexcusable and appropriate action will be taken. To ensure a safe gathering for all of our players, and loyal fans will need from us many volunteers and more security. I would like to welcome all teams and fans to experience the magic, the energy and the action in Minneapolis, St. Paul. The tournament will be held from July 16 to July 23 2011. If you need to get in touch with us, or you have question, suggestion, proposal please call me or email.
